Ms. Judy Yap is a Clinical Psychologist who received her training at James Cook University, Australia. She has worked in a community child health setting in Australia, in children and adult hospitals in Singapore, and as a private practitioner. She has worked extensively with locals as well as expatriates.
Ms. Yap's experience includes conducting neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly following their neurological conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, strokes, epilepsy, and hypoxia). She encourage the clients to utilise their strengths, suggest ways to cope with their difficulties, and provide psychosocial/emotional therapy and support to her clients. She also works with the clients' families and schools to help ensure a smoother integration process back to the home and school settings.
She also has a keen interest in identifying and understanding neurodevelopmental problems and learning difficulties (e.g. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, etc.) in school-age children and adolescents. Using appropriate assessment tools, she can identify the neurological/learning/psychological issues affecting the child and suggest ways to help them cope with their academic demands.

Ms. Yap is a trained Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Enhanced Level 5 provider where she tailors behaviour management strategies to help parents not only understand and manage their child's behaviour problems, but to build more positive parent-child/adolescent relationships. She is also experienced in helping children and adolescents with cleft lip and/or palate cope with their social and emotional challenges.
She uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) techniques to help her clients identify their thoughts and feelings, process their challenging situations, identify the possible triggers, and generate ways to cope more effectively.
Ms. Yap is a Full Member of the Singapore Psychological Society. She is also registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists and is an Approved Supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society.
